Fees for switching energy provider

If you're on a standard variable tariff, you should be able to change your energy supplier without having to pay any fees. If you're in a fixed term contract then your current supplier might charge you an exit fee to switch.

You should be able to find information about exit fees on your most recent bill. You might still save money over the course of a year, even if you have to pay an exit fee.

And in case you didn't know, you can leave your current supplier penalty free if you're in the last 49 days of your fixed term contract.
